CPU Config.

CPU Config.

Clearly more understanding is needed as I still get asked from time to time 'What is the difference between 4GB RAM and 300GB of hard disk, and which do I need?'. 09/03/2019 I have the AMD FX 4130 quad core processor but when I checked it said it only has two physical cores and 4 logical cores. The more cores a processor has, the...

If a processor can only process one set of instructions at a single, that means it has only a single a processor can process two sets of instructions at the same time, then it is considered a dual-core processor. In this regard, people in my field of immunology are very indebted to the physicists, engineers and mathematicians who make and program machines. We've come at a point when flash drives are not only portable, they're also able to hold a lot of data.

But it does give the model of the processor so you can google how many real and logical cores it has. With Windows 7 the number of physical cores is not displayed. The task manager shown is from Windows 8 or newer, which displays the number of (Physical) Cores (4) above.

Because the CPU has Hyper Threading enabled, it is seen and will function as 8 cores despite having 4 physical cores. So, in this example, there are actually only four physical CPU cores, right? If your processor has HyperThreadingTechnology (HTT) then half of the cores are logical and not physical.

You can look under the performance tab and count the number of cores. Now you should see many boxes in the CPU Usage History section which will identify how many cores you have. It is recommended that you go for a hard drive with 7200 RPM speed when considering buying one.

The average hard drive spins between 5200 to 5400 RPM's and faster hard drive spins between 7200 to 10,000 RPM's. They are the hard drive capacity and the speed. All programmes, operating system and files are stored on the computer hard drive.

RAM speed is measured in Megahertz or MHz and ranges form 400 MHz to 1000 MHz or 1 GHz and up. When buying a RAM you should get the fastest RAM your computer motherboard can handle. The more memory your computer has, the more programmes and files can be opened on your computer at one time. It is the main chips that controls the operation of the maths function and ties all of your hardware together so it can do operation such as showing programs on your screen or sending text to a printer.

Laptop computers are small light weight and portable machines that can run on batteries so you can carry them or take them anywhere you like. Sometimes the way people talk about computers can be very confusing specially if your are new to computers and never used one before. How can my program find out how many cores/threads a computer has?

Windows 10 can support up to a max of 32 cores for 32-bit Windows and 256 cores for 64-bit Windows. The two most popular programs are Speccy and HWiNFO Both of the programs work really well and give you just about every detail you can imagine about your hardware. These programs can also tell you whether your CPU supports virtualization, vt-x, SSSE3, etc.

Once you have the exact CPU model from system information, you also could just Google it and you'll get a spec sheet online for that processor (I Googled core i5-4660). Another simple way to get information about your CPU or CPUS without any software is to use the System Information dialog in Windows. I have 4 cores, which means it's a quad-core processor.

If a processor can process two sets of instructions at the same time, then it is considered a dual-core processor. So how many cores do you have on your current machine? A few years ago, this forum helped me unlock the extra cores on my Phenom II CPU, and these days it's a great resource for fine-tuning the overclock on my 3570k for stable 24/7 operation.

Other examples of "flow activities" are games, artistic performances and religious rituals, but Csikszentmihalyi notes that "people seem to get more flow from what they do on their jobs than from leisure activities" - perhaps especially those kinds of jobs which demand full attention, like surgery or computer programming. Out of system memory, it will be forced to instead use hard drive. Memory, a computer can open more programs and launch applications.

Keep operating system files, programs and data. Random Access Memory provides a faster location than a hard drive to. Random access memory, or RAM, is a core component of a computer system.
